TermDefinition
Claim To state that something is true which must be supported by evidence in order to be valid.
Paraphrased Evidence A statement written in one’s own words using information from a text to support a claim.
Cited Evidence A statement, written “word-for-word” using quotation marks, from a text that supports a claim.
Analysis An explanation from one's own thinking that supports evidence from a text.
Compare To show similarities between two things.
Contrast To show the difference between two things.
Era A period of time.
Agriculture The process of growing crops and domesticating animals for human consumption.
Revolution A forcible change in favor of a new system.
Domesticate The process of taming animals for human use and consumption.
Culture The customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people or other social group.
