repeating decimal a decimal in which one or more digits repeat infinitely
integers all whole numbers (both positive and negative) and zero
irrational number non-repeating, non-terminating decimals, non-perfect squares, pi
natural numbers the set of numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, ... also called counting numbers
real numbers the set of all rational and irrational numbers
non-perfect squares a irrational number that cannot be expressed as the product of two equal rational numbers
non-terminating decimal decimal that continues without an end
whole numbers natural numbers (counting numbers) and zero; 1, 2, 3...
terminating decimal a decimal number that ends or terminates
rational numbers any number that can be expressed as a fraction
