Exponent Properties
| Term | Definition |

| Product Property | When multiplying like bases, keep the bases and add the exponents. |
| Quotient Property | When dividing like bases, keep the bases and subtract the exponents. |
| Power-to-a-Power Property | When raising a base with an exponent to another exponent, keep the base and multiply the exponents. |
| Distributive Property for Exponents | When raising a product or quotient to a power, apply the power to each factor inside the parenthesis. |
| Zero Power Property | Any base raised to a power of zero is equal to one whole |
| Identity Property for Exponents | Any base raised to a power of one is equal to itself. |
| Negative Exponents Property | When an exponent is negative, write the reciprocal of the base (flip it to a fraction) and the exponent becomes positive. |
