Atom It is small particles of an element that maintains the chemical properties of that element.
Atomic Mass It is the total # of protons and neutrons in the nucleus
Atomic number the # of protons an atom has
Chemistry Study of matter, it's properties and how it changes.
Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space.
Boiling point Characteristic property of a substance.
Melting point Solid that melts at 1 temperature only.(turns to a liquid)
Physical Change Alter the form of a substance, but not identically.
Chemical Change Substances combine or break apart to form new substances.
Mixtures Two or more substances that are in the same place but are not chemically combined.
Pure Substances Made of only one kind of matter.
Elements Cannot be broken down into other substances.
Compounds Two or more elements.
