states of matter solid, liquid or gas
solid matter that has a fixed shape and volume
liquid matter that does not have a fixed shape but has volume
gas matter that has No shape and No volume
matter that has tightly packed molecules solid
matter in which molecules have SOME space between them and takes the shape of the container liquid
matter in which molecules have A LOT of space between them gas
molecules have very little energy and only vibrate in place solid
molecules have some energy and can move around but touch as they are moving liquid
molecules have a lot of energy and move fast but never touch as they move gas
