exponent | a quantity representing the power to which a given number or expression is to be raised, usually expressed as a raised symbol beside the number or expression |
integer | a whole number |
equivalent expressions | Equivalent expressions are expressions that have similar value or worth but do not look the same. |
perfect square | the product of an integer times itself |
square root of x | a number that when multiplied by itself is equal to x |
cube root of x | a number that when raised to the third power is equal to x |
perfect cube | the product of an integer used as a factor 3 times |
irrational number | a number that cannot be expressed as a quotient of two integers, terminating decimal, or repeating decimal. |
real numbers | all rational and irrational numbers. |
rational number | a number that can be expressed as a quotient of two integers, a repeating decimal, or a terminating decimal |
quotient | a result obtained by dividing two numbers |
product | a result obtained by multiplying two or more numbers |
scientific notation | numbers written in the form n * 10^a, where n is equal to or greater than 1 and less than 10, and a is an integer. |
