| Remuneration | Payment for services |
| Simple Sentence | has only one independent clause and no dependent clauses |
| Compound Sentence | contains two or more independent clauses joined together by a conjunction and no dependent clauses |
| Complex Sentence | contains one independent clause and one or more dependent clauses |
| Compound-Complex Sentence | sentence contains two or more independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses |
| Conjunction | a word used to connect two independent clauses or sentences (but, for, and, or) |
