Learn the definition of the parts of speech

noun person, place, thing, idea
verb an action or state of being
pronoun a word that replaces a noun
adjective modifies (describes) a noun or pronoun
adverb modifies (describes) an adjective, verb, or other adverbs
conjunction connections words, phrases, or clauses
interjection interrupts sentences or expresses emotions
prepositions links nouns, pronouns, and phrases to other parts of the sentence
articles the three words: a, an, the
