Week 1 Literary Term

TermDefinition
Narrative Writing or speech that tells a story. It can be used in novels, short stories, poetry, biographies, memoirs, and essays.
Allegory A narrative work of fiction or drama in which the elements - characters, settings, and plot - work together to teach a moral lesson.
Bias The author's personal inclination of the mind or a preconceived opinion about something or someone.
Climax The point of greatest emotional intensity, interest, or suspense in a narrative. Usually the climax coms at the turning point in a story or drama, the point just before the resolution of the conflict.
Dialect A variation of a language spoken by a particular group, often within a specific region and time.
