Vocabulary for LLS

TermDefinition
Address Domicilio, Dirección. Def: The information about where a place is located or where someone lives.
Adjuster Liquidador de daños / perito de siniestros . Def: Insurance company employee in charge of processing claims to their resolution.
Advice nurse Enfermera consejera. Def: A nurse who works in a call center answering calls and providing appropriate information to assist callers in assessing needs for health services.
Ambulance Ambulancia. Def: A vehicle specially equipped for taking sick or injured people to and from the hospital, especially in emergencies.
Amount Monto, cantidad Def: A quantity of something, such as money.
Appliances Electrodomésticos. Def: Devices, machines or instruments designed to perform a specific function, especially an electrical device for household use for example a washer, fridge, dryer, etc
Application Solicitud, formulario Def: A form to be filled out by an applicant requesting for a loan, credit card, a job, a driver's license, etc., or requesting for a service.
Appointmen Cita. Def: An arrangement to meet a person or be at a place at a certain time
Appraiser Tasador, evaluador, agente de avalúos. Def: One who estimates officially the cost or repairs or replacement of damaged property, such as a home or a car.
APR-Annual Percentage Rate Tasa de porcentaje anual Def: The interest rate for a whole year (annualized), rather than just a monthly fee/rate, as applied on a loan, mortgage loan, credit card, etc. It is a finance charge expressed as an annual rate.
Arrest Arresto. Def: To deprive (a person) of liberty by taking him into custody, under lawful authority.
Arrival Llegada. Def: The act or time of arriving.
Assault Agresión física, golpiza, paliza. Def: An intentional or reckless act that causes another person to expect to be subjected to immediate and unlawful violence.
ATM-Automated Teller Machine Cajero automático. Def: A machine, usually outside a bank, from which people can get money with their debit card, bank card or credit cards
Baby formula Leche infantil, fórmula para lactantes, fórmula para bebés. Def: A food which contains nutrients to feed infants used as a complete or partial substitute for human milk.
Bail Fianza Def: Security, usually a sum of money, exchanged for the release of an arrested person as a guarantee of that person's appearance for trial.
Balance transfer Transferencia de saldos. Def: A balance transfer is where you shift existing credit card debt to another card which charges a low interest rate or even 0% interest, helping you to save money.
Beneficiary Beneficiario(a) Def: Person(s) who may become eligible to receive or is receiving benefits under an insurance policy.
Benefits Beneficios. Def: Payment or service provided, receiving money from the government because of a low income or lack of income OR an advantage or profit gained from something.
Bill Factura, cobro, recibo Def: An itemized account of the separate cost of goods sold, services performed, or work done, a statement of charges, invoice
Birth certificate Acta de nacimiento Def: An official document issued upon a person's birth, attesting to the date and place of birth, parentage, etc.
Bodily injury Lesión corporal- daños físicos Def: Any physical or mental impairment suffered by an insured. It includes occupational diseases, auto injuries, workrelated accidents and even death.
Body shop Taller de carrocería Def: A repair establishment specializing in non-mechanical damages to automobile framework and body.
Booster shot Vacuna de refuerzo, siguiente dosis, inyección secundaria Def: An additional dose of a vaccine needed periodically to 'boost' the immune system.
Salvage title Titulo de salvamento. Def: Full disclosure and disclaimer about damaged propery.
