N.1.3 Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Fraction A numerical representation that tells you how many parts of a whole there are.
Numerator The top number in a fraction that shows how many parts there are.
Denominator The bottom number in a fraction that shows how many equal parts the item is divided into.
Simplify To make something less complicated and therefore easier to understand.
Decimal Numbers which consist of two parts namely, a whole number part and a fractional part separated by a decimal point.
Percent An amount per one hundred.
Equivalent When two or more quantities have the same value.
