| strong base | base molecules that release all of their OH- ions |
| hydronium ion | acid molecules where H+ + H20 -> H30+ |
| strong acid | acid molecules that release all of their H+ ions |
| weak acid | acid molecules that only release some of their H+ ions |
| base | something that releases OH- into water |
| acid | something that releases H+ ions into water |
| voltaic cell | also called a galvanic cell where metal atoms of one element force electrons onto metal atoms of another element |
| galvanic cell | also called a voltaic cell in which metal atoms of one element force electrons onto metal atoms of another element |
| voltage | The force exerted when metal atoms force electrons onto other atoms. This is also called the electromotive force (EMF) |
