| reduction (reduced) | giving electrons to atoms |
| ductile | a property of metals whereby they can be pulled out into thin wires |
| alternating current | electrons move back and forth through a metal |
| anions | a negatively charged ion such as Cl- |
| oxidizer | something that removes electrons from other atoms |
| voltage | The force exerted when metal atoms force electrons onto other atoms. This is also called the electromotive force (EMF) |
