Intro Skills for Wrestling
| Skill | Description |
|---|---|
| Neutral | On your feet in a hunched low profile staggered stance. |
| Top Position | Knee by opponent's knee, foot by their foot, far arm wrapped around the waist, near arm on the elbow. |
| Bottom Position (4 point) | Hands in front and knees behind the center mat lines, face the referee. |
| Hand-fighting | This typically involves hands but is a fight for a position of advantage. Can happen in any position. |
| Shot | Leg attack that involves setting up, level changing, and an explosive attack through your opponent's legs. |
| Set-ups | Using a combination of hand fighting and pressure to get your opponent off-balance and vulnerable. |
| Level Changing | Changing the height of your hips , especially getting your hips low enough to attack underneath an opponent. |
| Explosive Attack | An attack that knocks your opponent off balance. |
| Escape | Completely getting out of your opponent's control. Scored only from the bottom position. |
| Reversal | Changing from your opponent having control to you having control. Changing from bottom to top position. |
| Takedown | Taking an opponent down from neutral by having control of their hips in the top position. |
