| reparation | the making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged |
| atrocious | horrifyingly wicked; terrible |
| plight | a situation, especially a bad or unfortunate one |
| lament | mourn (a person's loss or death) |
| stalwart | loyal, reliable, and hardworking |
| mayhem | violent or damaging disorder; chaos |
