Vocabulary for Topic A/B

TermDefinition
Rational Number A number that can be written as a fraction
Irrational Number A number that CANNOT be written as a fraction
Compare To examine the difference between numbers, values or quantities
Repeating Decimal A decimal in which a group of numbers is repeated forever
Radical Expression An expression containing a radical (root) symbol
Perfect Square A number made by squaring a whole number (multiplying a whole number by itself)
Square Root of a number A factor that we can multiply by itself to get the number under the radical symbol
Cube Root of a number A number that must be multiplied by itself 3 times to equal a given number
