Question Words

TermDefinition
Question words always come before the verb in a sentence followed by the subject of the sentence
Question words always bear an accent mark on the stressed vowel
When used with verb Ser, Que and Cual mean what. Cual is used to indicate a selection or choice of possibility. Que is used to elicit a definition or explanation.
When followed by a noun Cuanto (how much/many) becomes an adjective which must agree in gender and quantity
Donde where (a location)
Adonde to where (a destination)
De donde from where
Como How/what/like
Cual (es) which/what (more than one choice) must match quantity
Cuando when
Cuanto (a) how much
Cuantos (as) how many
Que what
De que of what/about what
Quien (es) who
