energy 4.1

what is a system? an object or a group of objects
describe the changes in energy involved when a system is changed by heating - heating causes energy stored within a system by increasing the energy of the particles that make it up -either raises the system’s temp or provides change of state e.g heating a pan
what is work done with energy? when energy is transferred from one store to another
describe the changes in energy involved when a system is changed by work done by forces when force causes object to move, work is done against frictional forces causing objects temp to increase + energy is lost as heat and sound to surroundings e.g human rubs hands to get warm
what is a current and how does the work done by its flow change energy in a system current is a flow of charge and flows when there is a potential difference applied to circuit (provided by cell or power supplier) -gives each charge an amount of energy (work done by power supply as flows) e.g lighting bulb from battery
