Secondary alcohols can be oxidized to what? Ketones
What happens if water is present in oxidation reaction of primary alcohols? Go all the way to carboxylic acids
Why are anhydrous reagents, like PCC (pyridine chlorochromide) used in aldehyde synthesis? Because water will make aldehyde hydrates (two OH's) and go to CA. This does not occur in anhydrous environment stops at Aldehyde.
