Unit Rates and Percent Review

percent parts per 100, such as 25% means 25 per 100
part piece or segment of something
whole all of something
percent proportion used to solve percent word problems
solve a percent problem 1. fill in your known information 2. cross multiply and make an equation 3. divided by the number in front of the variable (letter)
Fraction to Decimal Divide numerator by denominator
Fraction to Percent 1. Convert into decimal by dividing 2. move the decimal 2 places to the right.
Percent to Fraction 1. %/100 2. simplify if possible
Decimal to Percent Multiply by 100 (move the decimal point two places to the right) and rewrite a percent symbol
Percent to Decimal Divide by 100 (move the decimal point two places to the left). Do NOT keep the percent symbol!
