Data Analysis Vocabulary
| Term | Definition |

| Shape | The form of an object |
| Spread | The extent to which data are distributed around a central point (normally the arithmetic mean) in a sample. |
| Center | The middle. All data is equidistance from this point. |
| Skewed Data | A distortion that deviates from the symmetrical bell curve, or normal distribution, in a set of data. If the curve is shifted to the left or to the right |
| Mean | Average. To calculate, add all the numbers in a set and divide by the amount of numbers in the set. |
| Interquartile Range | Difference between the first and third quartiles in a data set. |
| Symmetrical | made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis |
| Data | facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis. |
| Distribution | the way in which something is shared out among a group or spread over an area. |
| Range | the difference between the highest and lowest values in a set of numbers |
| Median | the middle value in a list ordered from smallest to largest |
| Mode | the most frequently occurring value on the list |
