interviews inquiries about your audience directed at any audience member
questionnaires surveys of audience opinions
open-ended questions similar to questions on an essay test that use an explanation and not a yes or no answer
closed-ended questions question that only has a yes or no answer
degree questions ask to what extent a respondent agrees or disagrees w/a statement
audience adaptations making the message appropriate for the particular audience by using analysis and applying its results to message creation
