Graphing a ratio Use the information given to create a graph (the image is the graph for this scenario) 10 oz of peaches is needed for 4 servings. Use 4 for the scale on the x-axis for the 4 servings Use 10 for the scale on the y-axis for the 10 oz. or peaches. Count by 4s on the x axis for your points and 10s on the y axis.
Writing an equation from a ratio graph Divide the y-axis number by the x-axis number to find the number for the equation. Ex: 20/2 = 10, equation is y = 10x
Writing an equation from a ratio table Divide the 2nd number by the first number to find the number for the equation. Ex. 6/2 = 3, equation is r=3g (r= red, g= green)
Writing ordered pairs from a table or graph Write the numbers in each row in order as an ordered pair. (3, 2)
proportion an equation that states that two ratios are equal
Solving a Proportion To solve a proportion, cross multiple and solve the equation for the unknown.
