| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Fraction to Decimal | Method 1: Divide numerator by denominator Method 2: Try to convert the denominator into 10, 100 or 1000 by multiplying it. Multiple the numerator by the same number as well. Rewrite as a decimal. |
| Decimal to Fraction | 1. Count the number of decimal places to the right of the decimal point. One Decimal place-The denominator will be 10 TWO decimal places-the denominator ell be 100 THREE decimal places-the denominator will be 1,000 and so on. 2. All the numbers, that are to the right of the decimal point, need to be written in the numerator. 3. Reduce if you can. |
| Fraction to Percent | Method 1: Convert into decimal (follow the steps above) and then follow the steps for converting decimal to percent below. Method 2: Try to convert the denominator into 100 by multiplying it. Multiply the numerator by the same number as well. Rewrite the numerator with the Percent symbol. |
| Percent to Fraction | 1.Write 100 in the denominator 2.Write the number itself in the numerator 3.Reduce if you can |
| Decimal to Percent | Multiply by 100 (move the decimal point two places to the right) and rewrite a percent symbol |
| Percent to Decimal | Divide by 100 (move the decimal point two places to the left). Do Not keep the percent symbol! |
| Percent Proportion Formula | is / of = % / 100 OR Part / Total = % / 100 |
| solve the proportion (find the value of x) | 7:10 and 14:x set these up as fractions 7/10 and 14/x cross mutiply 10 and 14 then divide the answer by 7 this gives you x ( note always cross multiply the numbers that line up on diaginal then divide by the number that is diaginal from x) |
| percent equation | an equivalent form of the percent proportion in which the percent is written as a decimal Part = %(as a decimal) x Whole |
