fraction a part of a whole
numerator the top part of a fraction, tells you how many parts of a whole you are working with
denominator the bottom part of a fraction, tells you how many = parts of a whole you are working with
equivalent fraction a fraction that is not written the same way, but means the same thing ex: 2/3 , 4/7
simplify/ lowest terms ÷ (d)&(n) by the same number find GCF
unit fraction any fraction that has 1 as the (n)
greater than >
less than <
= =
benchmark referance mark
proper fraction (n) less than (d)
improper fraction (d) more than (n) ex: 3/2
whole number has a 1 as the (d) ex 10/1
mixed number has a whole number and fraction 1 2/3
