Balancing Equations
| Balanced equation | Reactants and Product are equal on both sides |
| Ratio of coefficients | Each number compared to each other 3Au+8br>3AuBr 2:8:3 |
| Limiting reactant | The element that will run out first and determines how much product can be made |
| Excess reactant | The element you'll have left over after |
| Law of conservation of mass | Matter cannot be destroyed or created by a chemical reaction |
| Subscript | Is how find the number of each element in an equation |
| Balancing equations | Make the reactants the same as the product |
| Finding the Ration of Coefficients | Compare the coefficients (number in front of the element) to find the ratio |
| How to find the amount of product | The amount of product is determined by the limited reactant |
