Acerbic Sharp and forthright
Atrophy (Of a body tissue or an organ). To waste away, especially as a result of the degeneration of cells, or become vestigial during evolution.
Broach To raise a sensitive or difficult topic for discussion
Coterie A small of group of people with shared interests or tastes, especially one that is exclusive of other people.
Churlish Rude in a mean spirited and surly way.
Contentious Causing or likely to cause an argument; controversial.
Copious Abundunt in supply or quantity.
Corpulene The state of being fat; obesity.
Demagogue A political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational thinking.
Furtive Attempting to avoid notice or attention, typically because of guilt or a belief that discovery would lead to trouble.
Inveigh To speak or write about something with great hostility.
Laconic Using very few words.
Paragon A person or thing regarded as a perfect example of a particular quality.
Recalcitrant Having an obstinately uncooperative attitude toward authority or discipline.
Taciturn A person reserved or uncommunicative in speech.
Acuity Harpness or keenness of thought, vision, or hearing.
Avarice Extreme greed for wealth or material gain.
Avow To assert or confess openly.
Divination The practice or seeking knolwedge of the future or the unkown by supernatural means.
Duplicity Deceitfulness; double dealing.
Equivocation The use of ambiguous language to conceal the truth or to avoid committting onself.
Foible A minor weakness or eccentricity in someone's character.
Guile Sly or cunning intelligence.
Hoary Grayish white, old.
Maudlin Self-pityingly or tearfully sentimental, often through drunkenness.
