Armistice a temporary suspension of hostilities by agreement of the warring parties; truce: World War I ended with the armistice of 1918.
Sussex Pledge Promise issued by German officials during WW1 not to sink merchant vessels without warning or without assuring the passengers safety.
National Defense Act signed in by Woodrow Wilson on June 3, 1916 to create new military programs. It was signed in as a tool to help recruit more soldiers in a time of crisis, WWI.
Convoy System merchant ships were grouped together and protected by a small number of escort vessels.
Selective Service Act was the first act mandating American military service since the Civil War.

Mobilization to organize or adapt (industries, transportation facilities, etc.) for service to the government in time of war.
Espionage Act It prescribed a $10,000 fine and 20 years' imprisonment for interfering with the recruiting of troops or the disclosure of information dealing with national defense. Additional penalties were included for the refusal to perform military duty.
Sedition Act Sedition Act: forbade Americans to use "disloyal, profane, scurrilous, or abusive language" about the United States government, flag, or armed forces during war.
Reparations the making of amends for wrong or injury done
Dollar Diplomacy the goal of diplomacy was to create stability and order abroad that would best promote American commercial interests. The goal of diplomacy was to improve financial opportunities, but also to use private capital to further U.S. interests overseas.
