Stoic someone who can endure pain or hardship without complaining or showing their feelings
Dilapidated in a state of ruin or disrepair due to age or neglect
Enigma someone or something that is hard to understand or explain
Influx an arrival of a large group of people or things
Hovel a small, unpleasant house or dwelling
Demoralizing to discourage or to weaken the morale of someone
Disheartening to cause someone to lose hope, enthusiasm, or courage
Ghastly causing great horror or fear
Divulging to make something known (i.e. a secret or confidence)
Cacophony a harsh or jarring sound
Brutalized to treat someone violently or savagely
Sludge a mud-like or slushy mix of liquid and solid elements
Exodus a mass departure, typically referring to emigration
Mortify to cause someone to feel humiliated, embarassed, or ashamed
