| 2. Citizenship | the state of being vested with rights, privileges, and duties. |
| 3. Empathy | the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. |
| 4. Foresight | the ability to predict what will happen or will be needed in the future. |
| 5. Gratitude | the quality of being thankful; ready to show appreciation. |
| 6. Healthcare | the maintenance and improvement of physical and mental health through medical services. |
| 7. Helping Professions | careers that nurture the growth of problems a person has (nurses, doctors, social workers, teachers, preachers). |
| 8. Humanitarian | concerned with or seeking to promote human welfare. |
| 9. Longevity | long existence or service. |
| 10. Needs assessment | a process for determining and addressing needs or "gaps" for people in need. |
| 11. Oath | a solemn promise regarding one's future action or behavior. |
| 12. Patient-centered care | care that is respectful of, and responsive to, individual patient needs. |
| 13. Public health | the health of the population as a whole, monitored and regulated by the state. |
| 15. Servant leadership | a philosophy of leading others by putting the members' needs over your own. |
| 16. Simulated work environment | a learning environment in which a trainee is able to practice using and operating relevant industrial equipment under realistic workplace conditions. |
| 17. Stewardship | the job of supervising or taking care of something, like an organization or a property. |
| 18. Sustainability | the ability to be maintained at a certain rate or level. |
