| Reflexive Axiom of equality | A number equals itself x=x |
| Expression | A collection of numbers, operation signs, and symbols of inclusion |
| Solving an equation | Writing the solution set to the equation |
| Empty Set | When no solution is possible, the solution set will have no numbers in it |
| Radical | An expression that has a root |
| Symmetric Axiom of Equality | The two members of an equation can be reversed without affecting their equality |
| Order of Operations | 1. Evaluate any powers first 2. Multiply and divide in order from left to right 3. Last add and subtract in order from left to right |
