| Pronoun- Reflexive | Myself, yourself, himself/herself/itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves |
| Adjective | A word that modifies a noun or a program. |
| Adverb | There are three categories of adverb- 1) Adverbs that modify nouns, 2) Adverbs that modify adjectives, and 3) Adverbs that modify other adverbs. |
| Verbs | There are two kinds of verbs- action verbs and linking verbs. Action verbs show the subject of the sentence. Linking verbs either 1) Link the subject to another noun in the sentence or 2) Link or connect the subject to an adjective. |
| Direct Object | A Direct Object is a noun or pronoun that directly receives the action of an action verb. Thus, there can't be one when a linking verb is in the sentence. |
| Indirect Object | An Indirect Object is the noun or pronoun that indirectly receives the action of the action verb. An indirect object is the noun or pronoun to whom or for whom something is done. Thus, there can't be one when a linking verb is in the sentence. |
| Prepositional Phrases | Prepositional Phrases are groups of words that show position, direction, or how two words or ideas are related to each other. Prepositional phrases contain a preposition and an object of the preposition. |
| Phrases | Phrases are groups of words that do not contain a subject and a verb. |
| Clauses | Clauses are groups of words that do contain a subject and a verb. There are two kinds of clauses: Independent clauses |
