What is wave speed is defined as? The distance travelled by a wave each second Wave speed is the speed at which energy is transferred through a medium
What is the Wave Equation? Wave Speed = Frequency x Wavelength Transverse and longitudinal waves both obey the wave equation.
What are the units for Wave Speed? v = wave speed in metres per second (m/s) (m/s)
What are the units for Frequency? f = frequency in Hertz (Hz) (Hz)
What are the units for Wavelength? λ = wavelength in metres (m) (m)
Define Waves. Waves are repeated vibrations that transfer energy.
How is Energy Transferred? Energy is transferred by parts of the wave knocking nearby parts E.G people knocking into one another in a crowd
What are the types of Waves? Transverse Longitudinal
Define Transverse Waves. Waves where the points along its length vibrate at 90 degrees to the direction of energy transfer
