Roman Politics and History Emporeres created stability for two centuries but never solved the problem of succession. All too often an emporer's abilty to rule depended ont he support of the army.

What was the Roman Role of Ideas Romans stressed the idea of rule by a code of alws. Christianity intorudced a new set of ideas about human behavior that broke from the ideas of the Greco-Roman world.

Describe the development of Roman government. 1. Thought to be founded by Romulus and Remus2. Early Rome under control of 7 kings-of which 2 were Etrusans. 3. Rome then a Republic built on duty, courage and discipline.
How did Rome gain control of the lands surrounding the Mediterranean
Describe the character traits of Cincinnatus Hard-working farmer who led a simple life. He accepted his responsibilities and return to his home when his job was done.

Briefly describe the Roman Confederation A system under which Rome allowed some peoples to have full Roman citizenship. Other communities were made allies. Allies could improve their status and gain citizenship.
