Bullying in Schools

TermDefinition
prejudice ​an unreasonable dislike for a person, group, custom, etc., especially when it is based on their race, religion, sex, etc. Example: There was often prejudice against people with disabilities.
minority the smaller part of a group; less than half of the people or things in a large group
intolerance the fact of not being willing to accept ideas or ways of behaving that are different from your own
teasing to laugh at somebody and make jokes about them, either in a friendly way or in order to annoy them or make them embarrassed
hatred a very strong feeling of dislike for somebody/something Example: He looked at me with intense hatred.
bystander a person who sees something that is happening but is not involved
manipulation behavior that controls or influences somebody/something, often in a dishonest way so that they do not realize it
relational aggression refers to harm within relationships that is caused by bullying or manipulative behavior. Examples include: isolating someone by his or her group of friends, threatening to stop talking to a friend, or spreading gossip and rumors (online or otherwise)
humiliate to make somebody feel ashamed or stupid and lose the respect of other people
bullying unwanted, aggressive behavior. Bullying is 1)purposeful --someone is actively trying to hurt or humiliate another 2) repeated and 3) often features a power imbalance
