Pythagorean Theorem

| Pythagorean Theorem | a²+b²=c² |
| hypotenuse | the longest side of a right triangle (side c) |
| legs | two sides of a right triangle that form the right angle (sides a and b) |
| right triangle | a triangle that has a 90 degree angle. |
| square root | the opposite of a squared number; operation to find a number times itself that equals the value under the radical sign |
| Pythagorean triple | a set of three whole numbers that satisfy the Pythagorean Theorem |
| perfect squares | squares that have whole numbers for side lengths |
| Converse of the Pyth Theorem | If 3 side lengths satisfy the Pyth Theorem, the the lengths will form a right triangle. |
