| multiple | The product of two whole numbers |
| Least Common Multiple (LCM) | The least number that is a multiple of each of two (or more) whole numbers. |
| Least Common Denominator (LCD) | The least common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions. |
| Equivalent Fractions | Fractions that represent the same number or quantity. |
| Benchmarks | Numbers that are easier to work with and to picture than others. |
| Division Expression | An expression (math sentence) that contains only numbers and the division symbol. |
| Mixed Number | A number that consists of a whole number and a fraction. |
| Like Fraction | Two (or more) fractions with the same denominator. |
| Unline Fractions | Two (or more) fractions that do not have the same denominator. |
| Unit Fraction | A fraction with the numerator as 1. A single piece of the whole. |
| Related Fractions | Two fractions that one denominator is a multiple of the other denominator. |
| Prime Number | Only has itself and 1 as a factor |
| Composite Number | Has more than 1 and itself as a factor |
| Improper Fraction | A fraction that numerator is larger than denominator. Fraction larger than one whole. |
| Proper Fraction | A fraction that numerator is smaller than denominator. Fraction is less than one whole. |
| Numerator | Top number of a fraction. The number of units you have. |
| Denominator | Bottom number of a fraction. The number of units a whole is split into. |
| Simplify | Making the number of the fraction smaller using the common factors of the numerator and denominator. |
| Difference | Answer to a subtraction problem. |
| Sum | Answer to an addition problem |
| Compare | What do the numbers have in common, how are they different. Is one larger than the other? |
| Estimate | Find the benchmark that is closest to the actual number, then add or subtract. |
