words related to weather and their definition
| Term | Definition |

| Avalanche | A large body of snow, ice or rock sliding down a mountain. |
| Blizzard | An intense winter storm with winds of 35 m.p.h. or higher with falling and/or blowing snow to reduce visibility |
| Breeze | A light wind |
| Clouds | A visible collection of tiny water droplets or, at colder temperatures, ice crystals floating in the air above the surface |
| Drizzle | Light rain consisting of water droplets that are very small |
| Fog | A cloud on the ground that reduces visibility. |
| Frost | White ice crystals that form on a surface, like the ground or leaves of a plant. |
| Monsoon | A seasonal wind, found especially in Asia that reverses direction between summer and winter and often brings heavy rains |
| Mist | Water droplets so small that they are floating in the air. Because mist droplets do not fall, mist is a type of fog. |
