| Term | Definition |

| Homophone | A word that is pronounced the same as another but has a different meaning or spelling |
| Microphone | A device into which people speak or sing in order to record their voices or make them louder |
| Phonics | A method of teaching people to read and pronounce words by learning the sounds of letters, letter groups, or symbols |
| Saxophone | A musical instrument that has curved metal tubes and is played by blowing into the mouth piece |
| Symphony | A long piece of music that is usually in four large, separate sections and is performed by an orchestra or band |
| Reporter | A person who writes new stories for a newspaper magazine or people who talk about the news on a recorder or audio. |
| Predecessor | A person who had a job or position before someone else |
| Physician | A medical doctor, especially who is not a surgeon |
| Pianist | A person who plays the piano |
| Colonist | A person who lives in a colony |
