BMMS Ch. 4 Forms of Fiction Vocabulary

| novella | a story that is longer than a short story but shorter than a novel |

| heedful | attentive; keeping in mind |
| ignorance | lack of knowledge |
| comparing | noting ways in which people, places, and ideas are similar |
| contrasting | noting ways in which people, places, and ideas are different |
| short story | a fictional prose narrative that generally runs from five to twenty pages |
| chronological | the order in which events happen |
| time clues | clues that tell you when events occur such as later, earlier, next etc. |
