| Stoic | Unemotional, straight faced |
| Stereotype | Oversimplification of a person or group/culture |
| Demythologize | To overturn or undercut a stereotype |
| Archetype | Story or character that appears across many cultures |
| Romanticize | Overly positive view and a simplification, seeing only the good |
| Guttural | Harsh, raspy sound made in the throat, animal-like sound |
| Debris | Scattered waste, pieces of things leftover |
| Hover | Float or drift above the earth yet not moving forward (like a helicopter) |
| Vain | Arrogant or useless, not worth doing |
| Compliance | To follow along, opposite of rebelling |
| Commemorate | Recognize and honor |
| Derisive | Controversial, cynical or negative |
| Unprecedented | Never done before, exceptional |
