| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Coefficient of correlation (r) | Indicates how well the data on a scatter graph fits into a straight line pattern (strength) |
| When r=0 | There is no linear association |
| Coefficient of determination (r²) | % of the variation in the response variable that can be explained by the relationship between the variables |
| Period | The number of time intervals between consecutive peaks and troughs |
| Linear recurrence relation | Tn+₁= bTn + c T₁=a |
| Arithmetic sequences | Values increase or decrease by a fixed rate (common difference, d) |
| Arithmetic recursive equation | Tn+₁= Tn + d T₁= a |
| Arithmetic explicit rule for the nth term | Tn= a + (n - 1)d |
| Geometric Sequences | Each term is made by multiplying the previous term by a fixed number (common ratio, r) |
| Geometric recursive equation | Tn+₁= Tn x r T₁=a |
| Geometric explicit rule for the nth term | Tn= a x rⁿ − ¹ |
| Compound interest | P x (1 + r/n)ⁿτ n is the number of times compounded per year |
| Bridge | An edge that splits a graph in two if taken away |
| Bipartite graph | Vertices can be separated into two groups |
| Complete graph | Every vertex is connected to every vertex |
| Connected graph | All vertices are connected |
