component The part of a vector that lines up along one direction of a coordinate system.
perpendicular At an angle of 90˚ to a given line, plane, or surface.
vector resolution The process of determining the length and direction of a vector given its components or parts.
projectile An object that is thrown or launched into the air.
trajectory The path of a projectile (parabolic when no air resistance)
range The horizontal distance a projectile travels in the air.
