theme the writer's message within a lw that is often a perception about life or human nature shared with the reader.
irony contrast between what is expected to happen and what actually exists or happens.
situational irony discrepancy between expected result and what actually results.
verbal irony an implied discrepancy between what is said and what is meant.
dramatic irony occurs when there is a contrast between what a character knows and what another character in the audience knows.
symbol a person, place, or object that represents something beyond itself. (rose=love)
foreshadowing hints or clues to indicate events that will occur later in a narritive.
dialogue written convo. between 2 or more characters.
mood the feeling a writer creates for the reader.
