| isotopes | two or more types of atoms that have the same atomic number |
| planks constant | product of energy multiplied by time |
| valence electrons | electron in the outer shell associated with an atom |
| wavelength | distance between corresponding points of two consecutive waves |
| alkali metals | with hydrogen they constitute group 1 |
| alkaline earth metals | 6 chemical elements in group 2 |
