Physics Fundamentals
Term | Definition |

physics | A broad field of study that presents an organized way of modeling and interpreting nature |
model | A simplified way to describe a complex phenomenon. Used to make predictions. |
system | A set of objects chose to be part of a model. |
si system | The agreed upon system of units for scientific measurements. |
si base units | The 7 SI units from which all other SI units are derived. (*term is plural*) |
dimension | What you are looking to determine by measuring something (i.e. length, mass, time) |
unit | Labels a dimension to indicate what system of measurement was used. |
derived units | These are formed by combining the seven SI base units with multiplication or division (*term is plural*) |
