Ratio and proportion vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
ratio A comparison of 2 values using division
rate A ratio that has 2 different units.
unit rate A rate with the value of 1 in the denominator
equivalent Having the same value.
proportional A relationship that keeps the same rate.
constant rate A rate that stays the same.
coordinate plane A plane divided into 4 sections by the x and y axes.
origin The point where the x-axis and y-axis intersect (0, 0).
coordinate point (ordered pair) A specific location on the coordinate plane (x,y)
quadrant The 4 regions on the coordinate plane.
constant of proportionality (k) The constant unit rate in a proportional relationship.
