TermDefinition
Synonym A word or phrase that means exactly or nearly the same as another word or phrase in the same language, for example shut is a synonym of close
Antonym A word opposite in meaning to another ( e.g bad and good)
Pronoun A word that stands for one or more noun (example: he , she,it,I, we
Reflexive pronoun Reflects the action of a verb back on its subject ( example: I keep myself fit by taking a walk everyday.)
Intensive pronoun Adds emphasis to a noun or a pronoun ( Example: It took the work of the president himself to pass the law
Antecedent The word to which a pronoun refers ( the word it took the place of)
Narrative Non-fiction a non- fiction text that tells a story ( Example: Michaela DePrince
Authors purpose an authors main reason for writing ( Authors purpose is as easy as PIE - Persuade, inform, entertain)
