| Absolute Value | The distance between a number and zero. |
| Additive Inverse Property | The property that states that a number and its opposite have a sum of zero. |
| Associative Property | The property that states that you can change the grouping of numbers being added or multiplied without changing the results |
| Commutative Property | The property that states you can change the order of numbers being added or multiplied without changing the result. |
| Fractions | Numbers that represent part of a whole and consist of a numerator and denominator. |
| Identity Property of Addition | The property that states that the sum of a number and zero will be equal to that number. |
| Integers | All positive and negative whole numbers and zero. |
| Negative Integers | All whole numbers that are less than zero. |
| Opposites | Two numbers that are on different sides of zero, but are the same distance away from zero. Also called additive inverses. |
| Positive Integers | All whole numbers greater than zero. |
| Rational Numbers | Any number that can be written as a fraction. |
| Complex Fraction | A fraction in which both the numerator and the denominator are both fractions. |
