QuestionAnswer
Hoy es un día especial. Hoy es el cumpleaños de mi bebé. Voy a comprar un regalo para mi bebé. Today is a special day. Today is the birthday of my baby. I’m going to buy a gift for my baby.
Camino a la tienda. En la tienda hay un mal olor. I walk to the shop. In the shop there is a bad smell.
El señor me da el regalo. El regalo huele mal. The man gives me the gift. The gift smells bad.
“¿Esto es para usted?” pregunta el señor. “Is this for you?” the man asks.
“No, no es para mí,” contesto yo, “es para mi bebé.” “No, it isn’t for me,” I answer, “it’s for my baby.”
El regalo esta envuelto en papel blanco. Guardo el regalo en mi bolso. The gift is wrapped in white paper. I put the gift in my handbag.
Salgo del negocio. Camino hacia mi casa. Hace mucho calor. El sol es muy fuerte. I leave the store. I walk towards my house. It is very hot. The sun is very strong.
Detrás mío camina un perro negro. Behind me walks a black dog.
“¡Fuera!” grito al perro. El perro todavía me sigue. “Shoo!” I shout at the dog. The dog still follows me.
Sigo caminando. Miro detrás. Ahora hay dos perros detrás mío. Un perro es negro. El otro perro es marrón. I continue walking. I look behind. Now there are two dogs behind me. One dog is black. The other dog is brown.
Me detengo. I stop.
“¡Fuera!” grito a los perros. Ellos no escuchan. “Shoo!” I yell at the dogs. They don’t listen.
Camino rápido. El regalo en mi bolso huele mal. Miro hacia el cielo. Gaviotas vuelan sobre mi cabeza. I walk fast. The gift in my purse smells bad. I look to the sky. Seagulls fly above my head.
“¡Fuera!” grito a las gaviotas. Las gaviotas no escuchan. “Shoo!” I yell at the seagulls. The seagulls don’t listen.
Oigo mucho ruido detrás mío. Giro. Ahora son diez perros. Todos los perros tienen la lengua afuera. I hear a lot of noise behind me. I turn around. Now there are ten dogs.
“¡El regalo es para mi bebé!” grito. “No es para ustedes.” “The gift is for my baby!” I shout. “It’s not for you.”
Los perros ladran. ¡Yo corro! Veo un café. Entro. The dogs bark. I run! I see a cafe. I go inside.
En el café hay mucha gente. Todos tapan su nariz. Un mesero se acerca a mí. In the cafe there are a lot of people. Everybody covers their nose. A waiter approaches me.
“Señora, huele mal,” dice el mesero. “Ma’am, you smell bad,” says the waiter.
“Perdón,” respondo. “I’m sorry,” I reply.
“Por favor salga,” dice el mesero. “Please leave,” says the waiter.
Afuera, los perros y las gaviotas esperan. Outside, the dogs and the seagulls are waiting.
“¡No puedo salir!” “I can’t go out!”
El mesero insiste. Tengo que salir. El regalo huele muy mal. The waiter insists. I must go out. The gift smells very bad.
Salgo del café. Estoy asustada. Los perros corren detrás mío. Las gaviotas vuelan sobre mí. I leave the cafe. I am scared. The dogs run behind me. The seagulls fly above me.
Yo corro muy rápido. Tropiezo con una piedra. Caigo al piso. El regalo cae de mi bolso. Cae en la calle. I run very fast. I trip over a rock. I fall to the ground. The gift falls from my purse. It falls on the street.
Los perros corren hacia el regalo. Las gaviotas vuelan hacia el regalo. No sé qué hacer. The dogs run towards the gift. The seagulls fly towards the gift. I don’t know what to do.
Veo una rama en la acera. Tomo la rama. Arrojo la rama muy lejos. Los perros persiguen la rama. I see a branch on the sidewalk. I pick up the branch. I throw the branch far away. The dogs chase the branch.
Con mi bolso, espanto a las gaviotas. Recojo el regalo y sigo corriendo. With my handbag, I scare away the seagulls. I pick up the gift and keep running.
Finalmente, llego a mi casa. Entro. Mi bebé esta acostado sobre la cama. Finally, I get to my house. I go inside. My baby is laying on the bed.
Él huele el regalo. Se acerca a mí. He smells the gift. He comes towards me.
“Miau, miau,” dice. “Meow, meow,” he says.
“¡Feliz cumpleaños bebé!” digo. Acaricio sus orejas. “Happy birthday baby!” I say. I pet his ears.
Saco el regalo de mi bolso. Pongo el regalo en un plato. Pongo el plato en el piso. I take the gift from my purse. I put the gift on a plate. I put the plate on the floor.
Mi bebé se acerca al regalo. ¡El regalo es un pescado grande! My baby walks towards the gift. The gift is a big fish!
Mi bebé esta muy feliz. Yo… estoy muy cansada. My baby is very happy. Me… I’m very tired.
